Another Country.

Evening Strumpets,

Here`s a tune I wrote just after meeting my Sweetheart, who ended up being my wife.

It`s so true "The past is another country, they do things differently there."

Hope you like,

Mark.

Belated Mile tales.

Evening Strumpets,

A million apologies to you all, but I`ve been very busy lately doing what is known in these part`s as "Odds and Sods" around the house. and as I have a couple of days holiday coming up, I`ve also been snowed down at work.

However, we completed the Sport Relief Mile. Grace and I banjo and pink guitar in hand did it in just over nine minutes, whilst Louise and Hal (Uke in tow) completed it in a very respectable 16 minutes. the above pictures were taken whilst we warmed up. The Kid`s loved it, and over a thousand Teessiders turned up to take place.

The dashing Davies Clan raised just over a hundred quid, which was massively appreciated, so if you sponsored us, Thanks a Lot!

Till the next one, learn something new,

Mark.

Everybody wants to Run the World

Afternoon Strumpets.

As you can see above, we`ve had another story in the gazette regarding us attempting the Sport relief Mile tomorrow. Originally Gracie was going to run it playing her Uke, but we`ve decided that she can play her Pink guitar, and Hal can have a saunter with the Uke, singing along to his Mummy.

There`s a really nice article in the Gazette today, so a big thanks to John for his very kind words. It`s still not too late to sponsor us, either drop me an email at markdavies23@hotmail.co.uk or go to http://www.mysportrelief.com/dashingdaviesfamily

Hopefully it should be a great day tomorrow.

Till the next one, learn something new.

Take my Mother in Law......Please.

Evening Strumpets,

On the Eve of Mothering Sunday (in the UK), Marilyn from Acklam sent me this.

It`s a good Job she`s my wifes Mother.

Till the next one, keep smiling,

Mark.

For Lovers of Covers.

Evening strumpets,

I have recently been given a gift of a Semi Accoustic Guitar by my Lovely wifey. The guitar is my main instrument really, and I thought i`d post a couple of covers of some of me favourite songs. "Wall" was the first thing I learnt to play on guitar, well the "der der de der" was. "Mask" was one of my early favourites to drunkenly play at parties (Usually to an equally Drunk Carl Dalton), and Mr Grieves is a long overdue promise for me old mucka Pat.

Hope you like them.

Till the next one,

Learn something new,

Mark.

Now That`s Magic.

Evening strumpets,

Gracie brings a book home from School to read every night, and the last two nights one was about Magic, and one was about how television shows are made. She came up with this idea, and (apart from some dodgy editing, oops) I think the kid does herself really proud. Even manages to pop in a Paul Daniels Tribute.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Grace Davies

And from the sublime to the ridiculous. You may have seen a couple of versions of the Whoop song on this Blog, and although it`s pretty good as an instrumental, I felt it could do with some words. At the same time, whilst out and about, I also noticed that the names of some of the more Rougher areas of Boro wouldn`t seem out of place in the old West, Longlands, Grangetown, California-Eston, Priestfields. so I came up with this.

Hope these have tickled your fancy,

Till the next one,

learn something new.
